Diamond Colour

Colour

While many diamonds appear colourless, most contain subtle tones of yellow or brown. The closer a diamond is to having no colour, the more valuable it becomes.Diamond colour

"Colour refers to the degree to which a diamond is colourless"

Diamond colours are graded from D, continuing through the alphabet to Z. Truly colourless diamonds (D) are treasured for their rarity. While still beautiful, lower graded diamonds are less rare. Colour differences are very subtle.

Icy white colours (D-J) look beautiful set in white gold, platinum or palladium; warmer colours (K-Z) are fabulous set in yellow gold. However, choice of colour is purely down to personal taste.

Diamonds can also be found in what are called 'fancy colours', such as pink, brown, yellow and red. These are very rare and extremely valuable.
